I’m so honored to be mentioned in a short list like this of some of my biggest inspirations! Although, my interests haved moved in very different directions and I feel that some of the work listed along side me is deeply problematic, both ableist and racist in a big way. Hopefully TEDx will post my talk soon and it’ll help make clear how and why I’ve moved away from these interests… Largely because concerns about moving on beyond our current bodies seem to me to be based in the privilege of those who don’t have to be concerned with protecting their current bodies from violence on a daily basis, and I’m more interested in transforming the daily lives of people who are in my communities, such as queer and trans women of color.
